Adrian Peterson has been in the NFL nine years, but the man still runs like he’s much younger. There’s a reason why he’s the best running back in the league today and an easy first-ballot Hall of Famer down the line.
Peterson scored his 100th career touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football, and boy was it a thing of beauty. Peterson took the handoff from quarterback Teddy Bridgewater at the 9-yard line, found a hole on the left side and basically did the rest himself. Peterson’s blend of power and speed has always made him a rare back, but the dude has unbelievable wiggle, too.
How do you stop that?
According to ESPN Stats and Info, Peterson is the ninth player in NFL history to reach 100 touchdowns in his first 117 games. Ironically, Peterson was coming off one of his all-time worst games against the Seahawks in which he rushed just eight times for 18 yards.
Maybe the lack of carries for Peterson last week was all part of the master plan.
