Chris Paul Snatches the Grizzlies’ Soul; Clowns Force Kobe Bryant Off Twitter

C. P. 3. Game 2 on last night’s schedule was light years better than the opener; the second being an intense, ultra physical between the Clippers and the Grizzlies that came down to an incredible last-second bucket by the aforementioned Chris Paul. With the game tied at 91 (after the Clips let Memphis come back from a consistent 6-8-point deficit, including allowing a WIDE OPEN dunk on a screen and roll to even it up), CP, having already taken over on the offense end in the final two minutes, found himself iso’d on Tony Allen. Paul wanted to go right and right only, and Allen played defense about as well as anyone could possibly play without fouling. He closed off CP multiple times before Chris got a step on him – but he still forced Paul into a tough shot from outside the lane. Glass. Good. Buzzer. Ballgame. Watch for yourself here:

The series shifts to L.A. for Game 3 and the Grizzlies down 0-2. They’re in trouble … If not for Chris Paul’s heroics, this is the clip people would be talking about the most today: Jamal Crawford‘s monster-face second quarter. Watch some of these buckets:

In Monday night’s first game, the Chicago Bulls out-toughed the Brooklyn Nets last night in BK to even up their playoff series 1-1. It was a performance embodied by Joakim Noah, who not only grinded it out through the plantar, but was also a key factor with 11 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks … For what it’s worth, the Nets did get this first half buzzer-beater trey from C.J. Watson:

On the next page, dummies force Kobe Bryant to quit Twitter …

Annoying. People are. The media made such a big deal out of Kobe Bryant live-tweeting Game 1 of the Spurs/Lakers series that the TV announcers were broadcasting them as Kobe posted them to Twitter. And reporters were so eager to to blast Mike D’Antoni with his tweets a and throw them in his face in the post game press conference, that Kobe has decided to shut it down because it was causing so many problems for D’Antoni.

Check out his progression of tweets yesterday:

And then the final one:

And just like that we’re robbed of a genuinely fascinating real-time, in-game phenomenon. Sucks…

And while Kobe is being pushed off Twitter, another superstar made it known why he wants no parts of tweeting. Here’s Tim Duncan on why he isn’t on Twitter:

As good as that was, this tweet from Roy Hibbert about David Lee was probably our favorite from yesterday:

On the next page, NBA awards and ludicrous voting; When is it ok to make fun of Derrick Rose?

NBA awards were being handed out left and right yesterday. Marc Gasol won Defensive Player of the Year, and late last night word came out that Paul George picked up some hardware as well:

And earlier in the day, there was a press conference in NYC to announce that J.R. Smith won Sixth Man of the Year Award.

Here’s what J.R. posted after the presser:

No real arguments with any of these awards, right? Now check out how the Sixth Man votes shook out. Someone gave Jordan Crawford a first-place vote. That must be someone who thought they were voting for Jamal Crawford, right? RIGHT??

This was making the rounds on social media on Sunday and had us cracking up. So wrong, but check out this “Authentic Derrick Rose Playoff Jersey”:

Have you been checking in on Kendall Marshall?

and:

Kenneth Faried‘s injured ankle is reportedly going to keep him out of the starting lineup tonight, but it’s not going to keep him away from the floor. Check out what he posted last night:

We’re out like not knowing the difference between Jamal Crawford and Jordan Crawford.
