2013 NBA Draft: New Orleans Selects Nerlens Noel With The No. 6 Pick

5. New Orleans: Nerlens Noel – Kentucky
7-0, C
19 years old, Freshman

Noel finally finds a home in New Orleans. It’ll be interesting to see how the Kentucky connection — with Anthony Davis — can play together. It could work. They’ll be slight, but they can definitely move and block shots. Offensively, it’ll definitely work. Davis has already shown he can make jumpers, so Noel can do the dirty work on the offensive glass.

Noel is one of the best defensive prospects to come out of the draft in a long time. John Calipari likes to compare him to his old UMass pal, Marcus Camby. He may not be the prospect that Anthony Davis is, but he has quicker feet and is probably even faster end-to-end. The guy may never be an All-Star but he should develop into a fantastic third option that can anchor your team on the defensive end.
