If it weren’t for LeBron James, Kevin Durant would most likely be called the best player in the NBA right now by most fans. Durant has benefits from Nike, being a signature athlete with his own line of sneakers and apparel.
Being with Nike also has its other perks, as Durant can get basically whatever Nike-affiliated sneaker that he wants, whether it’s exclusive retro shoes from the past to even Air Jordans. Durant can get it all, but even with that, he’s a true sneakerhead at heart.
Durant has put his sneaker game on notice a lot lately on Instagram, and we decided to showcase his best IG moments with what heat he’s been rocking on his feet.
So without a further ado, here are Kevin Durant’s top 10 Instagram sneaker moments!

Honorable Mention: Air Jordan 9 “Johnny Kilroy”
KD rocks a nice pair of Js here. It’s a pretty old pic, and not exactly the best quality. Plus, the random cord in the middle of the pic kind of ruins it, which leads to this Instagram picture missing the cut. Nonetheless, a nice sneaker worn by KD as he rocks the Kilroy 9s.
10. Weatherman and Sport Royal Foams
The Weatherman and Sport Royal Foamposites have been one of the hottest sneakers to release in the past few months, and of course, KD decided to give us a look at his pairs early. This picture was posted well before the sneakers released, thanks to his amazing Nike connection. Durant comes with the straight hot fire in this one.
9. Even More Foams
By now, you should already know that Durant loves Foamposites. Besides the Whiteout Foams, Durant even pays homage to Charles Barkley with “76ers” and “Eggplant” colorways of the Chuckposites.
8. Air Jordan 4 “Bred” With Kendrick Perkins
I feel like Kendrick Perkins being in this picture makes this photo a whole lot better. Even though Durant is rocking an instant classic with Bred 4s, it would’ve been nice to see Perkins rocking some heat alongside his Oklahoma City Thunder teammate.
7. Fire Reds With James Harden
Not only did Kevin Durant rock the Fire Red 5s, but James Harden was rocking kicks that had even more fire when standing alongside with him. Harden pays homage to his ex-teammate, rocking the exclusive “What The KD” 5s. Together, they create a solid combo of sneaker heat.
6. Red Septembers
Whenever the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” releases, which could be in January or February, Durant wants to stay ahead by adding the all-red colorway to his own sneaker. Durant nicknames these all-red KD 5s the “Red Septembers.” Maybe in a few months, or likely earlier, we’ll see him rocking the actual Yeezy shoe.
5. Unreleased KD 6 Colorway At Redskins Game
Kevin Durant revealed the “Wheat” colorway of the KD 6s. Though it has yet to release, Durant is going to rock them anyway. He did so above at a Washington Redskins game, chilling on the sidelines with the shoes on.
4. Paying Homage To Gary Payton
The Nike Air Zoom Flight “The Glove” has made a comeback this year, and in perfect timing with Gary Payton’s induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame this year. Many NBA players are paying homage to Payton by rocking The Gloves, but Durant takes it up a notch by showing off a few unreleased colorways of the sneaker. Adding to that, he shows off some his off-the-court swag with some floral-camo shoes to the right side of the photo.
3. Stealth Foams
The Foams were going to make a comeback on this list sooner or later with KD. The Stealths are easily one of the more favored ones by Nike fans, and Durant shows it off on a regular day while representing his Washington Redskins.
2. What The KD 4s
The KD 4 will likely be regarded as the best sneaker in Kevin Durant’s signature line of Nike sneakers. The colorways were too good to be true during the 2011-12 NBA season, whether it was the 2012 All-Star Game “Galaxy” colorway to the “Nerfs” or “Weathermans.” Durant offered us a look at all of the colorways in one on this “What The KD” mash-up. It’s a beauty.
1. Air Jordan 5 “Oregon Ducks” PE
Simply quacktastic. The Oregon 5s have been showing up a lot around the web in the past month. There has yet to be an actual athlete showing it off, until KD of course. Durant made sneakerheads everywhere go crazy with this photo. We likely will never see a release date for these, so it’s nice by Durant to give us this super nice look of the sneaker.
