Video: Sixers Couldn’t Even Get Fans Free Big Mac

When it rains it pours. Or in the case of Sixers fans, it’s a growling stomach after sitting through the latest Sixers loss. During a Sacramento Kings visit to Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday night, the fans were hoping Philly might finally snap their 17-game losing streak. But Rudy Gay, Isaiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins wouldn’t let that happen. Not only that, but the Sixers tried to get to 100 points in the loss as part of a promotion with McDonald’s, and couldn’t even do that right.

With the clock ticking towards zero and the game long since passing the competitive stage, the Sixers desperately tried to force a last-second turnover so they could score 100 points. At least then those diehard fans who had stuck around could get a Big Mac as part of the McDonald’s promotion. Nope, even after Tony Wroten intercepted a pass with a couple seconds left, he immediately fell (and was probably tripped, but you’re not gonna get the call at that point). Not only did Philadelphia lose their 18th straight, but home fans clamoring for a Big Mac were left hungry and angry.

GM Sam Hinkie better know what he’s doing.
