Free agent Vince Carter will sign a three-year, $12 million deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team has announced last night. Memphis was uninterested in waiting on shooter, Mike Miller, who appears headed to Cleveland with LeBron James, and agreed to terms with the 37-year-old Carter last night.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports has more, but the third year of the deal is partially guaranteed for $2 million, adds Sam Amick of USA Today:

Carter, who averaged 11.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists while coming off the bench for 24.4 minutes per night with Dallas last season, told the Mavs he would re-sign for two years at $8 million, but they could only offer a $2.73 million exception.

Carter was again a solid contributor for Dallas this past season. Who can forget the the buzzer-beating game-winner he hit from beyond the arc as time expired in a Game 3 win over eventual champion Spurs during their memorable seven-game first-round series. The Grizzlies, acknowledging that Mike Miller was probably joining ‘Bron in Cleveland, needed a long-range threat to take his place, and Carter fit the bill for a price they could afford.
While attempting 4.6 three-pointers a game this past season, Vince shot 39.4 percent from beyond the arc. This after knocking down 40.3 percent on 4.8 long-range attempts during the 2012-13 season.
