GIF: Jamal Crawford Off-The-Glass Pass To Blake

It might take 50 wins to make the playoffs in the west, such is the depth and talent of nearly every team. Utah gave the Clippers a run tonight at Staples Center, and Steve Ballmore’s new team barely escaped a Gordon Hayward and Co. with a 107-101 win. The game also featured a number of high-flying finishes, though none were as creative as Jamal Crawford‘s spontaneous decision to lob it off the backboard for the waiting Blake Griffin.

You could make the case Jamal just threw it off the backboard and this wasn’t an intentional pass, but we know the reigning sixth man of the year is an original thinker, and that’s what it took to spot Blake. Except, rather than throw him a lob — he wasn’t ready to flush a direct pass — J. Crossover merely lofted it off the backboard for a wide open Blake on the right side of the iron:

Crawford also showed off his wily ball-handling and craftiness on this perfect hestitation dribble move for the swooping layup:

Crawford didn’t shoot particularly well on the night (7/19; 2/6 3pt), but the way he skips with the ball sometimes and his ability to improvise mid-air continue to amaze us.
