Video: Amar’e Stoudemire Throws Down The Vintage Hammer On Nikola Vucevic

The New York Knicks entered into Wednesday night’s matchup against the Orlando Magic looking to change course after dropping their last five games. Amar’e Stoudemire got the Garden rocking early in the second quarter with a monster slam. After setting a pick for teammate J.R. Smith, S.T.A.T. rolled hard to the bucket, caught the sweet bounce pass from Smith, and attacked the rim with fury. Magic center Nikola Vucevic was on the wrong end of Stoudemire’s path, as he ended up as the victim of the powerful posterizing dunk.

Carmelo Anthony’s three-pointer with 4.3 seconds remaining cut it to a one-point game, 96-95 in favor of the Magic. Evan Fournier, who had a career night with 28 points, missed one-of-two free-throw attempts to lift the Magic’s lead to two with 3.8 ticks left in regulation. Smith’s three-point attempt to win the game came up way short as time expired.

Wednesday’s loss marked the sixth consecutive loss for the Knicks, as they have yet to reach 100 points this season. Melo finished with 27 points and Smith added 19 points off the bench. While Stoudemire’s facial on Vucevic was a welcome sight for the New York fans, they would trade his spectacular jam for a win in a heartbeat.
