“MOVE, get out the way.” This first-quarter screen and roll between Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan was a thing of beauty. Marc Gasol, one of the best defenders in the league and the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year, sniffed DJ’s roll early, but he didn’t rotate out far enough to prevent the Clippers center from dropping the hammer right on his dome.
CP3 finished with a game-high 30 points and 10 dimes, but Mike Conley stripped Paul of the ball late when the Clippers were trailing by one. Paul was understandably pissed at himself after the game:
“You at least got to get a shot up, not a turnover,” Paul said. “… If I was at home watching this game, I’d say ‘This dummy has to get a shot up.’”
Gasol and the Grizzlies got the last laugh with a big 90-87 road win over their Western Conference rivals.
