DeMarcus Cousins Morphs Into Freight Train, Goes Coast-To-Coast To Posterize Jae Crowder

The Sacramento Kings were back in action on the court Friday night with a couple of differences to the bench’s appearance from its look before the All-Star break. Most noticeably, George Karl sat in the head coach’s chair for the first time since being hired last week. Second, Karl’s former player Andre Miller now sits where Ramon Sessions sat on the bench since the two were swapped during the fast and furious trade deadline on Thursday.

However, there was a very familiar sighting in Sac-Town during their battle with the Boston Celtics – specifically in the third quarter. DeMarcus Cousins proved how skilled he is at handling the ball and attacking the rim in one sequence that resulted in the crowd at Sleep Train Arena to go absolutely bonkers. After grabbing the board off a missed layup from Marcus Smart, Boogie went coast-to-coast, steamrolled past multiple defenders in the lane, and finished by destroying Jae Crowder with a mean facial.

It’s safe to say Crowder will think twice the next time he tries to draw a charge against Boogie when he is coming down the lane at full force. DMC’s snarl at the end of this fantastic throwdown says it all.

Coming off a well-deserved All-Star appearance, Cousins led his team to a 109-101 win on Friday night with his 30th performance of at least 20 points and 10 boards this season (most in NBA), scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds. Boogie additionally tied Kevin Love for the most games (9) with 30 points and 15 boards in the past two seasons.
