Report: Phoenix Suns Trade Goran Dragic To Miami Heat

So much for Robert Sarver’s misplaced obstinance standing in the way of a Goran Dragic trade. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Phoenix Suns have agreed to send the disgruntled lefty point guard to the Miami Heat.

UPDATE: The former Miami players heading to Phoenix are different than initially reported:

Wow. What a boon for the Heat. McRoberts is injured but an integral part of the team’s future, while Granger and Hamilton have been bit players for Erik Spoelstra. Losing Williams leaves them without a viable small-ball power forward, but that’s a price to pay given the long-term presence of McRoberts.

PREVIOUSLY: It was originally reported that Miami offered two future first-round picks – likely to come in 2017 and 2019 – in exchange for Dragic. However, the most recent intel has the Heat including Norris Cole and key offseason signee Josh McRoberts in the swap.

Might this be the move that spurs Miami up the Eastern Conference ranks? A quartet of Dragic, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Hassan Whiteside is an extremely formidable quartet. Should Pat Riley find a way to upgrade up his team’s bench, the Heat could make good on preseason expectations after all.

And considering the circumstances, this is quite a haul for Phoenix. Might GM Ryan McDonough have another move up his sleeve, too? The trade wins are swirling harder than ever.
