The Cleveland Cavaliers couldn’t overcome a vintage performance from Derrick Rose to beat the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night. Should these expected juggernauts meet when it matters most come playoff time, though, plays like this from Timofey Mozgov give Cleveland reason to believe it can bang with Chicago’s massive, talented frontcourt.
Question: Is it possible for Mozgov to “Mozgov” an opponent? Or would the basketball world collapse in on itself? Either way, the seven-foot Russian absolutely embarrassed Joakim Noah here. Not to the extent for which his namesake adjective was developed, of course, but without a doubt relatively speaking – Mozgov man isn’t exactly a high-flier.
Perhaps all that tough talk about Kevin Love had him extra hyped? Mozgov had 13 points and 11 rebounds in the Cavs’ 113-98 loss to the Bulls.
