Just think if Kobe Bryant had been comfortable showing this side of his personality throughout his storied career. Due to the fact that he wasn’t, though, it makes stories like the one he told on “The Tonight Show” last night all the more amusing. Watch a relaxed, charming Mamba recall making a beer run with host Jimmy Fallon back in 1996 – when he was a teenage unknown for the Los Angeles Lakers.
“I’m a Laker.”
Classic. Just imagine what Bryant can get when he pulls that card now.
It’s probably a good thing the store clerk didn’t look too closely, though. Kobe was 18 or 19 years-old if he and Fallon remember the time correctly, multiple years below (the ridiculous) legal drinking age. Alert David Stern! Retroactive suspension!
