DeMarcus Cousins Dribbles Around Pero Antic And Dunks On Mike Muscala

Al Horford was sidelined, and Paul Millsap and Elton Brand were on the bench. But we’re not even sure the Atlanta Hawks’ best interior defensive players would have stopped DeMarcus Cousins on this play, let alone Pero Antic and Mike Muscala.

An under-discussed attribute that helps make Boogie such a devastating force is his coordination. His size, strength, and skill are well-known and certainly rare, but Cousins’ short-area quickness is what separates him from other post behemoths. Think about it: How many other true big men in basketball could make this play?

Anthony Davis, sure. But other than that, no player immediately comes to mind – and pretty much no one can match the 24 year-old’s strength, either. He’s scary.

The Sacramento Kings will need more plays like this one from their franchise player down the stretch to upset the Hawks. Sacramento trails Atlanta 96-95 late in the fourth quarter.
