Watch Maryland’s Dez Wells Force A Travel By Jumping Over A Rutgers Player, Then Smash Sportscenter’s Top Play

Maryland senior Dez Wells finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds in last night’s 60-50 Terrapins win over Rutgers, but the numbers don’t show you how his high-flying act affected the game. Specifically three separation jaw-dropping jumps — including a bit of defense only LeBron could match.

Maryland Coach Mark Turgeon summed up Dez’s performance after the game, per the Washington Post:

“He was at another level. He was clearly the best player on the floor. And we needed him to do that for us to win.”

First, lets look at his defense. Well, that’s a misnomer. He was totally tricked when Myles Mack pump-faked from beyond the arc, but Dez still managed to force a traveling violation by vaulting completely over the 5-9 Rutgers guard:

Then there were the dunks. This baseline rim-rocker past two Rutgers defenders was Sportscenter’s top play:

And when Rutgers tied it up with six minutes remaining, Wells scored the next six points, including this breakaway tomahawk.

Dez did it all.
