The Knicks are largely unwatchable, sporting the league’s worst record after 60 games (12-48). Their big summer coup, Carmelo Anthony, shut it down after appearing in the All-Star Game in front of his home crowd, and their roster is a hodgepodge of D-League call ups and aging role players (at least Stoudemire’s deal is off the books). So it makes sense Spike Lee was in Oakland last night for the Dubs romp over the Mavs on ESPN.
At one point, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr asked Spike what he was doing at Oracle Arena, and we think Spike’s response sums up New York’s season pretty well:
“I haven’t seen a good game this year.”
The Knicks are second to last in offensive and defensive rating, so they’re as bad as the Warriors are good — Golden State ranks second in offensive rating and first on the defensive side of the ball.
Even in Oakland, Spike was still rocking a Knicks jersey, this time Anthony Mason’s No. 14. R.I.P. Mase.
