NBA Names Brook Lopez And James Harden Conference Players Of The Week

The NBA announced that Nets center Brook Lopez and Rockets guard James Harden have been named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively.

This is the second consecutive week that Lopez has received the award. Over that period, he’s averaging 24.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks on 58.5 percent shooting from the field. Lopez’s week also included a game-winning tip-in against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden last Wednesday.

During the past week, Harden had a pair of 40+ point games, one of which was a career-high 51 points in a win against the Sacramento Kings and DeMarcus Cousins, who had an insane triple double with 24 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists, six blocks, and three steals. Harden is also one of only five players to have more than two 40-point games this season.

He capped off his week with an incredible Easter Sunday duel against Russell Westbrook during which he scored eight points in a little more than a minute of action to help put away the Thunder, further solidifying his place as an MVP front-runner.
