James Harden Drives The Lane For Soaring Lefty Throw-Down

Believe it or not, offense comes pretty easy when defenders fall to the floor. Just imagine if Josh Smith were allowed to trip Devin Harris every time he set a ball-screen – James Harden would be cooking constantly!

Wide open lane or not, this soaring lefty throw-down by the Beard is a necessary reminder for NBA laymen of just how explosive he really is. Harden might not be LeBron James or Russell Westbrook, but he has plenty of leaping ability, strength to spare, and body control normally reserves for players far smaller. He’s a great athlete, basically, and exhibited that reality with aplomb on this authoritative finish.

Led by a combined 35 points from Harden and the surging Josh Smith, the Houston Rockets lead the Dallas Mavericks 61-57 early in the third quarter of a close-out Game 5.
