Watch Doc Rivers Taunt The Rockets Crowd During The Clippers’ Game 1 Win

The Rockets were resting on their laurels Monday night. Maybe it was the absence of Chris Paul, but they didn’t know what to do with the schemes devised by Doc Rivers — namely, running the offense through the capable hands of Blake Griffin — to account for Paul’s truancy.

The first quarter saw the Toyota Center thumping as the Rockets jumped out to a 25-19 lead. But during the 20-point demolition the Clippers unleashed in the second half, easily outpacing the three-point advantage Houston clung too at the half-time real, the crowd’s exuberance noticeably dissipated. That marked change didn’t escape the notice of Doc, as you can see in the video above:

“HEYY, I don’t hear ya’ll crying now.” Doc said to the crowd. “I don’t hear anything now.”

Pause.

“Ya’ll gotta boo.”

Doc Rivers and his Clippers are in full-fledged bulldozer mode after escaping the myth their first-round series against the Spurs will inevitably become, if it hasn’t already.

The Rockets just weren’t prepared. We doubt that’s the case Wednesday night, but for now, Doc had some light-hearted fun at the expense of those Rockets fans sitting near him for Game 1.
