The season is over, and with it goes LeBron James’ annual playoff social media blackout. How did the four-time MVP and reigning Eastern Conference champion celebrate the occasion? Not by posting about a vacation, party, or even getting back in the gym to prepare for 2015-2016.

Instead, James reminded the world what his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was really all about – giving back to the community that helped raise him.

You don’t have to be a fan of James’ game. For many, professional sports serve as a socially acceptable outlet for frustration and irrational hate, and the two-time champion’s talents and time in the spotlight make him an easy target. That’s fine, too.

But don’t doubt LeBron the person. Time and again, he proves to be an even better role model for today’s youth than he is a basketball player.
