Usher performed the national anthem before Game 4 of the NBA Finals and damn near took a fortnight with it. Naturally, the NBA is going in the complete opposite direction for Game 5. On Saturday, the league announced on Twitter that James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica will be performing the anthem in Oakland. Will it be a pair of acoustic guitars or will Hetfield and Hammett straight-up shred through this thing and blow Francis Scott Key’s mind?
Oh, and while they’re there, can we get Hetfield and Hammett to cover this?
Do that and we’ll all pretend St. Anger never happened.
