It’s all but official: The San Antonio Spurs’ long-term core of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili are all coming back next season, accompanied by Kawhi Leonard and their new teammate, LaMarcus Aldridge. Ginobili was the last piece of that puzzle, and he announced his return on Twitter Monday afternoon (with a strong hashtag):
In related news, the Spurs will be terrifying next year. Even though Ginobili declined more significantly in production than fellow elder statesman Tim Duncan, he’s still a valuable asset off the bench for his ball handling, shooting and general unpredictability. And besides, an NBA without Manu Ginobili is a less fun NBA.
