Phoenix Mercury star Brittney Griner might go down as the greatest center in women’s basketball history (if she can keep herself out of trouble), but she’s perhaps best known for her dunking ability, due in no small part to her 6’8 frame. But big hands are also necessary for dunking, and oh man, we did not realize quite how big her hands are.
That’s Griner with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the seven-footer with over 38,000 career points, the most in NBA history. Thanks to reddit, we now know that her hands are even bigger than his. Good lord. Griner is averaging 15 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.4 blocks per game for Phoenix in the WNBA season so far, and the Mercury are in second place in the Western Conference.
Griner’s request for annulment from her spouse, Glory Johnson, was recently denied by an Arizona judge, and divorce proceedings are expected in the near future.
