How Derrick Rose’s Visit To Dodger Stadium Upset The Cubs And White Sox

That’s Derrick Rose at Chavez Ravine with his awesome son, P.J. They were touring the home of the Dodgers on Monday, and even met the LA Galaxy’s Giovani dos Santos during the visit.

Rose said in the spring after his Bulls were eliminated from the Eastern Conference Semifinals that he’d be spending his summer in Santa Monica and not in his hometown of Chicago, or even Las Vegas — where USA Basketball is holding minicamps.

Nope, Rose is enjoying the weather, but his hometown baseball teams saw the tweet and were jokingly peeved:

Way back in 2008, Rose visited U.S. Cellular Field, home of the White Sox, so he’s got a history with the team. Plus, P.J. was rocking a Jon Lester Cubs jersey during the playoffs in the spring, so obviously Rose has a history with baseball in his hometown.

All of this was in good fun, but we’re sure some Bulls and Lakers fans will find a way to twist it into something that it’s not. Rose won’t be a free agent until the summer of 2017 and while a lot can happen in that time, random summer visits to baseball stadiums aren’t a precursor to free agency movement. Remember LeBron and his Yankees cap?
