Bulls center Joakim Noah is one of the more socially-conscious NBA players out there. Chicago’s All-Star big man is one of the founders of the Noah’s Arc Foundation, an initiative that tries to inspire children to make a positive impact on their community. He even won NBA’s J. Walter Kennedy Citizen Award in 2015 for his dedication to community service.

Noah’s foundation unveiled its newest initiative today, titled “Rock Your Drop.” According to ABC 7 Chicago, the goal of the non-violence movement is to “empower youth and community members.” It is symbolized by a small teardrop necklace, which stems from the Drop of Consciousness that is designed by Noah’s Arc Foundation co-founder Cecilia Rodhe. The foundation’s website explains the small design as “a metal teardrop whose scarred surface recognizes the pain of losing someone to violence, while the precious metal and solid feel of the drop symbolize strength and commitment to positive change.”

Noah has taken to Twitter to promote Rock Your Drop.

Give Noah a ton of credit for his work with this cause. Violence is a major issue, especially in Chicago, so for an athlete to use his prominent status in the community to try and fight this epidemic is incredibly admirable.
