Michael Jordan, the near consensus choice as the greatest basketball player of all-time, recently said there’s “no question” he’d beat LeBron James in a game of one-on-one. Guess what, though? The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar thinks a theoretical duel between the two would go just a bit differently.

In a chat with with Willie Geist of Today, James sounded quite confident he’d defeat the Chicago Bulls legend in the basketball world’s dream individual match-up.

As far as on the court, the four-time MVP and two-time NBA champion is often compared to Michael Jordan in the conversation of the greatest basketball players of all time. Recently, the ultra-competitive Jordan was asked whether he could beat James one-on-one during his prime and answered, “No question.”

“Oh, I take myself,” James told Geist. “For sure. I mean, I’m gonna take myself versus anybody. I’ll tell you one thing — they’re gonna have to have a few wheelchairs and a couple ambulances there to get us off the floor.”

Cue the Jordan fans:

“What?!

Who is James to believe he could even come close to taking down Jordan?! His four MVPs, two gold medals, and two championships don’t come close to matching Jordan’s accomplishments! And who cares about James’ jaw-dropping statistical resumé and unparalleled physical gifts, either?

Count MJ’s rings first, then go back and take a look at LeBron’s record in the NBA Finals – you tell us who the real champion is. Only an arrogant choker the likes of James would ever believe he’d beat Jordan! SMH!”

In news that’s only a tad more important, LeBron recently announced that he’d pay for the college tuitions of approximately 2,000 Akron-area children.
