The Sacramento Kings Are Bringing Back Their Baby Blue Uniforms Next Season

The Kings will hark back to their inaugural season in Sacramento with some special uniforms this season, bringing back the baby blues the team wore from 1985-1990. In a fitting farewell to the Sleep Train Arena (formerly Arco Arena I), that they’ve called home since their move from Kansas City in 1985, the team will wear baby blue uniforms for nine “Flashback Friday” games throughout the season and the final home game of the year.

Staring in the 2016-17 season, the team will play in the brand-new Golden 1 Center.

“The 1985-86 NBA season is one of the most memorable in Kings history,” said Kings President Chris Granger. “Bringing back the ‘baby blues’ enables the best and loudest fans in the NBA to celebrate memories of our storied franchise history. We look forward to honoring our proud past as we look forward to our proud future at Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento.”

Kings fans can see these retro unis at the following games this season:

  • Oct. 30 vs. Los Angeles Lakers

  • Nov. 6 vs. Houston Rockets

  • Nov. 13 vs. Brooklyn Nets

  • Nov. 27 vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

  • Feb. 19 vs. Denver Nuggets

  • Feb. 26 vs. Los Angeles Clippers

  • Mar. 11 vs. Orlando Magic

  • Mar. 25 vs. Phoenix Suns

  • Apr. 1 vs. Miami Heat

  • Apr. 9 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder

They remind us of the “Back In Blue” PRIDE uniforms the Los Angeles Clippers debuted before the 2013-14 season, but it’s a gorgeous color, so we encourage the Kings to wear them as often as possible.

What do you think?
