Rajon Rondo Shows Off His Handles While Riding A Phunkeeduck

Even for die-hard fans, there’s a lot of mystery surrounding Rajon Rondo‘s appearance in a Kings uniform this upcoming season. The former Celtic all-star and unabashed disaster in Dallas, will do his best to wash away vestiges of his precipitous decline these last couple seasons. Following his ACL tear in early 2013, Rondo just hasn’t been the same, and his shooting ills have intensified to the point where he’s an anachronism in today’s 3-point-heavy NBA.

Perhaps that will change in Sacramento, where Rondo says team and player are “a great fit so far.” Maybe that’s why Rondo felt free to cut loose and do some dribbling while on one of those Phunkeeduck hovertrax gizmos we keep seeing pop up on the NBA landscape.

There was J.R. Smith’s playoff entrance and exit on one. Then, this past offseason, Wesley Matthews broke out some moves on the Phunkeeduck as he recovers from his Achilles’ tendon tear. Wes even showed off a couple of LMA post moves on the weird personal conveyance device. Maybe we’re showing our age, but it seems a lot easier to just walk, or run somewhere.

Despite our own discomfort with the new ride, Rondo looks pretty pleasant on one. But we’re not sure how it’ll help his dreadful true shooting percentage over the last few seasons and his disastrous 39.7 free throw percentage last year. Rondo — 60 percent for his career from the stripe — has to hit his free throws if he’s going to have any chance of coming back as a go-to star in the Association.
