PICS: Jordan Brand And Spike Lee Unveil The Spike Forty

The Spike Forty is the third signature sneaker collaboration between the original Mars Blackmon and the brand that bears his former commercial cohort’s name. Spike Lee has already released the Jordan Spizike and the Air Jordan “Son of Mars,” so he’s had some experience helping to design his own signature kicks.

After raiding Tinker Hatfield’s sketch vault (we’re picturing an actual Uncle Scrooge level vault, but with tons of drawings — instead of gold coins — inside), Nike designers made sure to implement the Jordan 5, released in 1990 — the same year Spike signed a bogus contract with his hometown team.

The blue/orange Knicks colorway is involved, obviously, but there are three more colorways that will be released through Dec. 16.

The Spike Forty is available at select retail stores and Jordan.com for a suggested retail price of $180. Multiple colorways of the Spike Forty will land throughout the holiday season, including:

TOTAL ORANGE/GAME ROYAL
10/28 LAUNCH

GAME ROYAL/TOTAL ORANGE
11/4 LAUNCH

WHITE/FIRE RED
11/18 LAUNCH

BLACK/FIRE RED
12/16 LAUNCH

On Dec. 1, consumers can customize the Spike Forty on NikeID.
