The latest on Lamar Odom shows improvement in his condition, with TMZ reporting that his heart is stabilizing and other reports having him slowly being taken off life support. That hasn’t stopped the outpouring of support from his friends and family, including those in the NBA.

His former Lakers teammate Joe Smith appeared on CNN to chat abut Odom’s addiction and his current situation, saying that he had “no idea” that the NBA star was in such a state:

Smith also released a tribute song to Odom titled “If I Die Tonight.” He spoke to TMZ Sports about the song and the message he hopes people take along with it:

“I want [the song] to give the people some faith and motivation… empower them. Give them hope that Lamar’s going to be okay.”

Although the song seems to be asking the question of what the world would do if Odom were to pass away, Smith says reaction has been positive … even moving some to tears.

“The response has been great. People are enjoying the music. Some people even said it brought tears to their eyes. That shows people are hearing the song and feeling the emotion in it.”

TMZ also brought an update for Odom and Khloe Kardashian, noting that he did not disinherit the reality star from his estate:

Khloe and Lamar had a prenup, separating her money from his. Multiple sources familiar with the situation tell us Lamar does not have a will. Under the laws of California, if he were to die, Khloe would be entitled to 1/3 of Lamar’s personal fortune. His kids would get the remaining 2/3.

There’s no fighting it … the law is the law. We’re told Khloe doesn’t care about his money or want it, but the fact is, she’s still his wife and she gets 1/3.

Our sources also say Lamar has several life insurance trusts, making both Khloe and his kids beneficiaries.

All-in-all, the Kardashian side of this story has been fairly positive. Khloe Kardashian has been supportive in her role, and it would seem that the entire family is bringing their best to the situation.
