Just the other day, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert had some fun with fans when he tweeted a pic of what supposedly were the team’s three new alternate jersey designs, and let’s just say that they were not what you might call aesthetically pleasing. That turned out to be a troll job on Gilbert’s part, and it’s a good thing, because folks in Cleveland did not seem to have a sense of humor about it.
The new Miami Heat jerseys, on the other hand, are totally serious. On Tuesday, the team tweeted a photo of three new jersey designs that they’ll debut during the upcoming season.

The one to the far left above is a classic ’90s throwback jersey that, as the team website says, recalls the “era of Timmy, Zo, and Thunder Dan!” The jersey to the far right is a nod to the armed forces and features five stripes on the right shoulder that represent the five branches of the military, and 13 stripes on the left shoulder that symbolize the 13 original colonies. Players will wear those jerseys during games that coincide with the Veteran’s Day holiday next month.
The middle design is what the team is calling a “Legacy” jersey, which features “Side paneling on only one side – a homage to the original HEAT uniforms.” The Legacy uniforms will be worn throughout the month of December.
