Dion Waiters Somehow Came Up Short On This Completely Uncontested Breakaway Layup

It was a rocky start to the Thunder-Pelicans game on Wednesday night that featured a botched dunk by Eric Gordon and a pair of missed layups. OKC’s Dion Waiters was responsible for the latter as he blew this wide-open lay-in on the fast break.

The Thunder were once again without Kevin Durant, who has been recovering from a strained hamstring. The Pelicans were likewise without a slew of their key players, including Anthony Davis, who injured his shoulder in the first quarter against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night and did not return. They were also without Omer Asik, who is sitting out his second straight game with a stomach illness, as well as Tyreke Evans, Kendrick Perkins, Norris Cole and Quincy Pondexter, who are all battling various injuries.
