A Duke Fan Made This Jahlil Okafor Tribute Video To ‘Save’ Him From The Winless Sixers

It’s been a rough couple of years for the Philadelphia 76ers. Wins have been incredibly hard to come by while the team has tried to build a title-caliber squad by acquiring young talent. That’s especially been true for the start of the 2015-16 season – through 15 games, the Sixers are winless, meaning they are three more losses away from tying the record for the most losses to start a season in league history.

One of the brightest spots on this Sixers team is the No. 3 pick in the 2015 draft, Jahlil Okafor. The Duke product looks like a star in the making, as he leads Philadelphia in scoring with 18.4 points per game. He’s also doing a really good job cleaning up on the boards and blocking shots, pulling down 8 rebounds a night and registering 1.67 blocks per game. It’s still early in his first season, but Okafor looks like he may be a star in this league for a long time.

Still, he is stuck on a Sixers squad that isn’t going to compete for a championship anytime soon. That’s why the Blue Devils fan behind the Duke in the NBA Twitter account decided to make a video of lowlights from this season in an attempt to #SaveJahlil from the worst team in the league. We’re willing to bet that this isn’t going to work, but it’s still an admirable attempt by Okafor’s fellow Dukie.
