LeBron James Morphs Into The Hulk, Tears Away His Sleeved Jersey

You had to know this was going to happen sooner or later. It’s no secret LeBron James isn’t a fan of long-sleeved jerseys, which is kind of funny considering the Cavaliers opted to include them in their 2015-16 collection of uniforms. Namely, LeBron has blamed long-sleeved jerseys for making it harder to shoot during games. Or, at the very least, he drew a loose line between A and B.

“I’m not making excuses, but I’m not a big fan of the jerseys,” James said last year. “Every time I shoot it feels like it’s just pulling right up underneath my arm. I already don’t have much room for error on my jump shot. It’s definitely not a good thing.”

And, apparently, LeBron’s had enough. Against the Knicks, James went went full Hulk and ripped his jersey because they make him angry and you wouldn’t like LeBron when he’s angry. As usual, the Internet had fun with the whole thing, but the fact remains that long-sleeved jerseys are a generally disliked thing across the NBA between players and front-office folks alike.

It seems like overkill for commissioner Adam Silver to get involved, even though he’s met with LeBron in the past. With licensing deals being what they are it seems unlikely that long-sleeved jerseys are going away (at least until Nike reclaims its spot as the NBA’s apparel partner). Which means LeBron’s probably going to be ripping through more in the future.
