Steph Curry Just Hit Another Shot Of The Year Candidate…Then Did It AGAIN

There was absolutely no reason at all for Stephen Curry to shoot this shot. Time was not running out on the shot or game clock, nor were the rest of his teammates closely guarded. Sure, he was trying to draw a foul on Mike Conley, but the shot was a risky move that could have led to disastrous results.

Of course, this is Steph Curry, for whom disasters simply do not occur. Just the opposite, in fact. Curry, while trying to sell the contact, heaves the ball from just beyond halfcourt, and, in typical Curry fashion, the ball sails gently through the net.

There was, however, every reason in the world for Curry to shoot this shot.

With time winding down in the quarter, Curry had no choice but to heave the ball at the basket. Except, as we’ve learned time and again, once Curry crosses that half-court stripe, everything is just another shot, seemingly as simple as a lay up or a wide-open corner three.

At this point, we may have to have two unofficial shot of the year categories: Steph Curry shots, and those from everyone else.
