Andrew Bogut’s Three-Pointer Totally Made Up For The Worst Free Throw Of The Year

Andrew Bogut is a curious entity on the Golden State Warriors. While the team as a whole seems like it was sent from the future to destroy us (and look damn good doing it), Bogut’s a throwback — a big, hulking enforcer of a center with no range to speak of, but full of defensive menace. And like many traditional centers, his free throw shooting can get a bit rough, as you see above.

Then again, maybe Bogut isn’t that out of place on this team after all. He’s a genius passer and screener, and though he needs to leave the court for the Warriors’ monster small-ball lineup to take shape, he’s still the starter on possibly the greatest team the NBA’s ever seen. And though he air balled that free throw, he showed just a bit later that maybe he does belong on the gunning Dubs:

Honestly, there’s arguments for both sides here. On the one hand, look at that free throw again. That’s just… yeesh. Leaving aside how horrifically, insanely inaccurate it was, even DeAndre Jordan hasn’t had an uglier shot this year. On the other, he has the highest three-point percentage on the Warriors this season! One for one, baby — your new stretch five is here!
