When Josh Hagins dribbled up the court, he seemed to have no sense of urgency, but the three-pointer he tossed up with five seconds to go sent the Arkansas-Little Rock vs. Purdue game into overtime. The Trojans trailed by 14 at one point, but kept on clawing away until Hagins hit the dagger right near the end of regulation.

He wasn’t done there either, as the senior point guard tossed in a layup with 18 seconds to go in overtime that tied the game and sent the contest into double overtime. Hagins eventually hit a clutch fade away with a minute to go in the second extra period and a couple of big free throws late to clinch the Trojans’ victory, giving the Midwest Region its requisite No. 12 over No. 5 upset.

Hagins’ 31 points was a career high and paced the Trojans, while Vince Edwards led the Boilermakers with 24. Purdue center A.J. Hammons finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds but didn’t hit a single shot from the field in either overtime period and missed a free throw with just 21 seconds to go that would have cut the Arkansas-Little Rock lead down to one. The Trojans now move on to face Iowa State on Saturday with a chance to go to the Sweet 16 on the line.

March Madness is real. It’s all happening.
