‘Round and ’round the basketball goes, where it stops, nobody knows. Well, that’s not entirely true. The Atlanta Hawks know where it’ll stop: at the bottom of the net. The Hawks had two absolutely gorgeous possessions against the Philadelphia 76ers, whipping the ball from player to player and side to side, with nary a millisecond between touches.
When the Hawks click, they’re as dangerous as anyone in the NBA, simply because of how precisely they move the ball. It dizzies the defense and tires them out, making them a split-second too late when they have to close out on the open man or recover for an attempted block.
