The Rio Olympics may be rife with problems, but the United States’ basketball team is avoiding most of those problems by staying on a damn cruise ship. Must be nice to have one of the richest athletic associations on earth. So, while the Olympics descend into chaos on the mainland, Team USA is out here having a ball on Snapchat.
Carmelo Anthony is admittedly new to Snapchat (that’s what hanging out with a bunch of younger dudes will do for you), but early indicators are good that he’ll be a worthy follow, as he immediately labels DeAndre Jordan “Jimi Hendrix in the face” — not bad — and DeMarcus Cousins “Othella Hurrington,” which is one of the more original burns I’ve ever heard lobbed at Boogie.
For those who don’t know, Othella Harrington was a power forward who played for the Rockets and Knicks, among others, in the late 90s and early 2000s. His career was never all that distinguished — he only averaged double-digit points one time — but does he look like Cousins?
There might be some resemblance, but the combination of that and Harrington’s anonymity as a player makes it a pretty savage nickname. And of course, Draymond Green made a cameo appearance to continue trashing Jimmy Butler’s hair.
