The Cavaliers Were Held At The Toronto Airport By Tricky Canadian Customs Officials

The Cleveland Cavaliers lead the Toronto Raptors 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals. They won the series opener by 31 points and followed it up with a 19-point victory in Game 2. They’ve yet to lose a game since the postseason began five weeks ago, and all signs point to their chances of winning a championship being much better than most anticipated.

The Eastern Conference title, for instance, is merely a formality at this point. Cleveland will beat Toronto; the only question remaining is how long it will take Ty Lue’s team to do it.

Perhaps hoping to prolong their underdog and undermanned squad’s chances of preventing that inevitability, Canadian officials kept the Cavaliers waiting at customs for over an hour when their plane arrived in Ontario on Friday afternoon.

The video above comes courtesy of Richard Jefferson’s SnapChat, which has quickly become über-entertaining fodder for Cleveland fans between playoff games. The veteran swingman’s only update since the last clip of he and his teammates sitting on the tarmac is a photo of his bag getting searched inside the airport.

Might border agents be keeping the Cavaliers until tipoff of Saturday night’s Game 3? It seems like that stunt would be a difficult one to pull off. Having said that, doing so would definitely afford the Raptors their best chance to make this series somewhat competitive. They can’t lose to Cleveland if LeBron James and company don’t show up for the game, right?

We’ll find out later tonight.
