The Cleveland Cavaliers got a thrilling OT victory over the Timberwolves on Wednesday night on a game-winning buzzer-beater from LeBron James, and it was a sorely-needed morale boost for a team that has been plagued by all sorts of interpersonal upheaval both on and off the court in recent weeks.

It represented a stunning outing from LeBron, as speculation about his future with the franchise has existed in a myriad of ways. Yet on this night, he was absolutely incredible, finishing with 37 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds, including a blistering 5-of-7 shooting from behind the arc.

In fact, everybody was on fire from long-distance on Wednesday night as the two teams combined to set an NBA record with 40 total three-pointers for the game.

J.R. Smith, as is his wont, was slightly less efficient, though no less impressive, as he made six of his 11 attempts from three-point land en route to 20 points for the night. Kyle Korver chipped in four threes of his own for the Cavs, and Isaiah Thomas was good for 3-of-5 from downtown as well.

LeBron’s foil in Minnesota, Jimmy Butler, was also lighting it up he knocked down four of his five treys, while Andrew Wiggins was a respectable 4-of-8 from distance. It was Karl-Anthony Towns, however, who had the ultimate hot hand for the Wolves as he shot a perfect 6-of-6 from long-range.

The Cavs will look to ride this momentum and get back on track after a brutal stretch that has called their entire existence into question.
