Chris Paul Shared A ‘Trash Talking Round Of Golf’ With Tiger Woods On Wednesday

President Barack Obama, Ray Allen, Stephen Curry, and Dell Curry recently played a round of golf. According to the reigning MVP, President Obama got a bit chatty on the links – enough that Curry characterized his jabber as “trash talk” during a Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance earlier this week.

If even the President of the United States and basketball’s most polite superstar are exchanging smack over golf, just imagine what transpired between notoriously ardent competitors like Tiger Woods and Chris Paul. In fact, it’s pretty shocking a picture was taken of the pair in which both are smiling. They clearly planned that photo-op to downplay what was a wildly intense game of swinging titanium clubs on manicured grass while wearing pleated slacks and polo shirts, right?

On the other hand, Paul’s offseason recently took a turn for the way, way better. It wasn’t long ago that the Los Angeles Clippers’ longstanding title hopes seemed all but officially dashed. But DeAndre Jordan shocked the league by reneging on a commitment to the Dallas Mavericks, keeping Paul’s dreams of an elusive NBA title alive and well. Then Los Angeles went and stole Josh Smith from the Houston Rockets, the very team that ousted them from the playoffs in wholly surprising fashion just three months ago.

All things considered, then, the trash talk probably was all in good fun. Maybe. For sake of his pride, though, Woods is lucky he didn’t take Paul out on the course early last month. We’ve a feeling his gentle ribbing of the Point God would have turned ugly very, very fast.
