The Rio Olympics are just a few weeks away, and on Monday in Las Vegas, Team USA had their first practice, showcasing the squad that will try to bring home the gold medal for the third consecutive games. The roster is set, and with several high-profile stars — LeBron James, Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, etc. — not participating this time around, a lot of questions remain about lineups and rotations.

There are a few things for certain, however, such as DeAndre Jordan throwing down monster jams off lobs from various teammates, like the one courtesy of Draymond Green above during the scrimmage, or the one below from Kyle Lowry.

Then, there’s the feelgood story of Paul George, back in the red, white, and blue after suffering that horrific leg injury two summers ago prior to the World Cup of Basketball. He’s gonna be a problem for other countries in the games.

Beyond that, USA Basketball practices tend to offer a lot of one-on-one action between some of the NBA’s top players, which is always a treat.

But best of all, perhaps, was the return of coach Monty Williams, a staple of Team USA the past few years, who’s taken some time away from basketball after his wife died tragically in a car accident earlier this year. Great to see him back on the court.
