DeAndre Jordan is having a ton of fun with Team USA at the Rio Olympics this summer. This isn’t hard to believe: Being a celebrity athlete at a summit of international athletes is bound to have its perks.

One of Jordan’s favorite features of this tour of basketball dominion, though, is one particular friendship. In a recent story by Michael Lee of The Vertical, we learned about the storied friendship Jordan shares with Kevin Durant, dating back over a decade to when KD tried recruiting Jordan to Texas for NCAA action, but failed because DeAndre knew he’d be a one-and-done player.

“If I were to get married today, he’d be in my wedding,” Durant told Lee about Jordan. “That’s how it is. That’s my brother.”

In case that anecdote did not press your adorable button, do know that the first text Durant said he received when he left the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors was from Jordan.

It read: “Love you, bro. Congrats. Whatever makes you happy.”

This, in spite of the fact that Jordan was attempting to recruit Durant to his Los Angeles Clippers, but the 2014 MVP instead chose their most hated rival in the Bay. What good, solid bros these guys are.
