Of Course DeMarcus Cousins Chucked The Ball At Chris Paul In Frustration

Chris Paul isn’t just one of the most talented players of his era. What sets the Los Angeles Clippers point guard apart from the rest isn’t just his supreme blend of passing, ball handling, and shot-making abilities, but also the mental edge he has on opponents from game to game.

Case in point: Paul frustrating DeMarcus Cousins to the point of the Sacramento Kings superstar throwing the ball at him in anger.

Sacramento’s commentators could be right. Maybe Boogie really was just trying to avoid falling out of bounds with the ball in his hands when he chucked it at Paul. Considering his penchant for on-court hysterics, the meaningless stage of a blowout game, and the pair’s well-known prior run-ins, though, what seems far more likely is Cousins saw the opportunity for a freebie cheap-shot at a player he openly dislikes and decided to take it.

And honestly, it’s kind of tough to blame him. The Point God intentionally gets under the skin of antagonists on a nightly basis, and tortured the Kings on Friday night en route to 40 points, eight rebounds, and 13 assists on 13-of-19 shooting.

Remember this, too?

Yeah.

We get what you were doing, DeMarcus. The problem is that Paul no doubt relished getting you to the breaking point as much as he did carving up your team in another Clippers win over the Kings.
