Don’t Ask Dirk Nowitzki To Try Another Bicycle Kick, But His Zaza Impression Wasn’t That Bad

Dirk Nowitzki is a highly skilled basketball player. He has earned millions of dollars plying his craft in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks. In an effort to give back, he headlines a charity soccer match in his home country of Germany, so the last thing anyone should do is make jokes about his football skills.

Let’s make jokes about football skills.

Ha! Look at that bicycle kick! Nice one, loser! In all seriousness, Dirk might be the first 7-foot person in the world’s history to even attempt a bicycle kick. That No. 20 dude on the other team could have been killed if he got his leg to the proper height. Anyone in a 7-foot radius, including Dirk, probably had an 88 percent chance of critical injury on this play.

While Dirk may be bad at soccer, he’s not bad at impersonating a soccer player.

In case you were thinking Dirk’s miss is yet another example of his soccer ineptitude, realize it’s part of the impression, when Italy’s Zaza did this against Germany during Euro 2016 this year.

Maybe Dirk’s post-NBA career won’t involve soccer, but maybe he can be soccer’s version of Batting Stance Guy.
