See Why Dwyane Wade Admits To Being A Groomzilla On ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

“I was a little over the top, but it was fine.” That was Dwyane Wade talking about the lead up to his wedding last summer during his Wednesday night appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Wade and his now-wife Gabrielle Union were wed in an exclusive ceremony last summer where guests had to sign a non-disclosure agreement before attending. The pair also used Joakim Noah’s oft-repeated pejorative description of the “Hollywood as Hell” Heat and used it as a backdrop during their nuptials.

But the wedding wasn’t all silliness, at least not for Wade, who told Meyers that while most weddings are all about the bride, that wasn’t really the case here. Wade admits to really caring about the details of the ceremony, something Gabby didn’t care about.

Plus, Wade paid for the whole thing, which should give him some say on things.

“You know how people say weddings are all about the woman?” Wade informed the crowd. “No, it was about both of us. So, I came out to my own song, [and] had my own moment.”

D-Wade was footing the bill, and he wanted it to be just right. Maybe that’s a Groomzilla, but it’s Wade’s attention to detail that’s turned him into an NBA superstar. Union had to have been prepared for all of Wade’s meticulous game-planning for their own union.
