Since coming into the league as a skinny, long-limbed unknown, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been convincing people that he’ll be a superstar. This year, he’s finally producing like one, and with that will come a lot more fans, not just of the Bucks but of Giannis himself from around the country.

Case in point: the above video, which either was a kid losing some sort of bet or actually changing his allegiance after this ferocious block by Giannis:

The game was in Milwaukee, so there are a couple possible angles. Say it’s a local kid, perhaps he was once swayed by the star power of Russell Westbrook, and was convinced by Giannis’ athletic superiority to finally get on the hometown bandwagon. If that’s the case, then we say bless him. And even if the child has no logical reason for affiliating with either team, he’s young enough to follow his whimsical heart wherever it takes him.

If he was settling a bet, then good on him for honoring his promises and having some fun.

However it happens, Giannis deserves a bunch of young fans to gawk at his magnificence on the court. He’s only 22, and if he’s got this power already, there’s no telling how much higher he can climb.
