One of the more remarkable things about Kobe Bryant‘s 20-year tenure in the NBA is that he’s been playing longer than some of these younger guys have been alive. It’s also become quite clear through his farewell tour that he is exalted among many of his peers as both the greatest player of his generation and/or the Michael Jordan of his era. It’s telling when modern-day superstars like Steph Curry and Kevin Durant want your autograph.
And as Kobe’s gotten older, he hasn’t been shy about heaping praise on the new generation of young talent. That’s precisely what he did Monday prior to the Lakers game against the Milwaukee Bucks when he had this to say about 21-year-old Giannis Antetokounmpo.
That has to be a pretty cool moment for any basketball player, regardless of age. Indeed, the Greek Freak had a hard time even believing Kobe Bryant was aware of his existence.

It’s been a somewhat disappointing season for the Bucks, who were supposed to be competing for playoff spot this spring, but it’s still hard not to be excited about a young core that includes Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker, and more.
