Here’s Hassan Whiteside Spinning And Smashing On Two Powerless Mavs Players

With the Miami Heat not shooting great against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday — outside of Chris Bosh, that is, and he still went 0-for from beyond the arc — it helped that Hassan Whiteside had a huge game off the bench. In 17 minutes, Whiteside went 5-of-5 from the floor and grabbed nine rebounds, nearly giving himself a double-double.

He also had this monster dunk over Justin Anderson and JaVale McGee. Down in the post, Whiteside put a wicked spin move on McGee and smashed it home. Even the crowd at American Airlines arena was impressed with the move

It was also Whiteside’s first game back after missing the previous six games with an oblique injury—one that, per the Miami Herald, felt “really weird” and left him at about “80 to 90 percent” coming into Wednesday’s game. Even simple things like raising your arm can be painful with that type of injury and, well, Whiteside looked like he was just fine on that move. Going sky over a center isn’t exactly easily done.

As for the rest of the Heat, Bosh, D-Wade and Co. came up big shooting when they absolutely had to, but Whiteside was the unsung hero of the game with his off-the-bench performance.
